Crafters, artists, and makers - join us on the 4th Tuesday of each month for an exciting new maker program.
Easter Eggs & Pyrography
March 24 - 10am. 1pm, and 5pm sessions (limited to 6 patrons per session)
Practice basic wood burning techniques and use them to decorate a wooden egg. Coloring options will also be given.
Australian Aboriginal Art
April 28 - 10am and 5pm sessions
G'day! Join us down under, mate, and explore the world of aboriginal art and dream lines while creating your own Aussie tile.
On the Barn Quilt Trail
May 26 - 10am and 5pm sessions
Learn about the history of barn quilts and the barn quilt trail while creating your own barn quilt -- no sewing, no fabric -- Your wood barn quilt will finish about 8" square.
Raise Your Glass to Freedom!
Tuesday, June 23 10 am – 12 pm or 5:00 – 7:00 pm
Celebrate Independence Day with a glass etched with a patriotic design of your choice. Learn to create fabulous designs using simple glass etching techniques.
Quill, Ink and John Hancock
Tuesday, July 28 10 am – 12 pm or 5:00 – 7:00 pm
Thomas Jefferson raise geese to have enough quills for writing. Oak galls were gathered to make the ink. Practice your “John Hancock” as you learn to make the quill and ink used to write the original Declaration of Independence.
Making Your Mark on Leather
Tuesday, August 25 10 am – 12 pm or 5:00 – 7:00 pm
Emboss and stamp leather with patriotic and colonial designs to create a bookmark to use while reading up on the American revolution and early American history.
Coptic Book Binding
Tuesday, September 22 10 am – 12 pm or 5:00 – 7:00 pm
Coptic book binding, first used in 2nd century Egypt, uses decorative chain-link stitching on an exposed spine and multiple sections to create finished books that lie completely flat – ideal for art journals, sketchbooks and more. Hard covers add to the durability and beauty of these books.
Oh, Ho! Hojolata Ornaments
Tuesday, October 27 10 am – 12 pm or 5:00 – 7:00 pm
Use metal, paints and embossing tools to create Mexican tin art ornaments. You’ll even learn how to pronounce “hojolata”!
Folded Fabric Ornaments
Tuesday, November 24 10 am – 12 pm or 5:00 – 7:00 pm
Learn to fold fabric, assemble felt circles, and weave ribbon to make several beautiful, no sewing ornaments for the holidays.
